Mobile OWA for IPhone and Android

In AppStore and Google Store you can find Mobile OWA for your mobile devices.

Mobile OWA for IPhone was available for few weeks, but for Android it’s quite fresh.

After installation of Mobile OWA you can easily get access to your mailbox like using OWA on desktop computer.

With Mobile OWA you can access to all mailboxes where you have full access rights.

If you are using few mailboxes it’s better than Active Sync where you can use only one default mailbox

Exchange 2013 CU2 Issue – Public Folder Permissions Loss After PF Mailbox Move

Exchange Team Blog inform about some issue when you install CU2 for Exchange 2013 and you use Modern Public Folders.

This issue can occur when you move public folder mailboxes.

When you move public folder mailbox it’s possible that you will lost permission structure on some public folders, specially:

  1. If you move (via New-MoveRequest) a secondary public folder (PF) mailbox, the permissions on any public folder (including well known folders) not stored in the secondary PF mailbox would be lost from the secondary PF mailbox and replaced by the default ACL. The original ACLs can be restored via a full synchronization event by executing Update-PublicFolderMailbox -InvokeSynchronizer <Public Folder Mailbox> -FullSync.
  2. If you move (via New-MoveRequest) the primary PF mailbox, the permissions on any public folder (including well known folders) not stored in that public folder mailbox are lost and replaced by the default ACL.

Exchange 2010 CAS RPC & OWA active connections

Sometimes you want to know how many users connect do your Exchange 2010 Client Access Servers. This information is useful then you are using Network Load Balancer or Hardware Load Balancer.
Then you can easily check if it works perfectly.

Information about users connections to specified CAS server you can get from Counters:

  •  MSExchange RpcClientAccess\User Count
  • MSExchange OWA\Current Unique Users

You can get value of those counters using Exchange Management Shell and paste following powershell code:

$CASServers = Get-ClientAccessServer | select name

Foreach ($srv in $CASServers){
 $RPC = Get-Counter "\MSExchange RpcClientAccess\User Count" -ComputerName $srv.name
 $OWA = Get-Counter "\MSExchange OWA\Current Unique Users" -ComputerName $srv.name
 New-Object PSObject -Property @{
 Server = $srv.name
 "RPC Client Access" = $RPC.CounterSamples[0].CookedValue
 "Outlook Web App" = $OWA.CounterSamples[0].CookedValue
 }
}

You only need to have access to all CAS servers, then you will get result like below:
