Automatic configuration of this feature is very convenient. The problem appears when you do not want to see these calendars in Outlook. So we’ll have a little work.

Disable Team Calendar for single user

For single user simply disable this feature directly in Outlook. Expand ‘Calendar Groups‘ and deselect ‘Show Team Calendar‘, ‘Show Manager’s Team Calendar‘.

If we want to avoid user’s ability to manage these functions and permamently disable feature we can use Registry Editor.

So fire up regedit and create folowing DWORD key:

When considering the installation of a new version of Microsoft Outlook (MS Outlook 2013), you must know that Outlook 2013 no longer uses the suggested contacts.

If you install Microsoft Outlook 2013 as an update Outlook 2010 or 2007 then you can still use the suggested contacts that were created with previous versions of Outlook but as a read only.

Unfortunately, Outlook 2013 does not allow you to add new suggested contact but it allow you to use sugested contacts added by previous versions of Outlook.

However, if you install Microsoft Outlook 2013 on new computer as a new installation then you have forget about suggested contacts.
In a clean Outlook 2013 installation, Suggested Contacts is no longer available, the folder never is created, and no suggested contact items are created.

On the other hand, it is a good thing, because sometimes it happened that we had to remove mailbox and then we assumed it again for some time. Then lot of users store previous mailbox address in suggested contacts and when they sending a message most often used with hints Outlook, which was no longer valid, and send message to this mailbox resulted in the receipt of information about the non-delivery of messages.

The solution was to remove a suggested contact or in some cases all suggested contacts. Therefore, with the introduction of Microsoft Outlook 2013 problem disappears.

If you have users workaholic – they won’t complain.

This situation is caused by Microsoft Outlook 2007.
When it was released it included only calendar holidays till the end of 2012.

Now when you want to still use Outlook 2007 you have to download and distribute a new “Holiday file” to your users.

You can find such file in internet.

Remember that holidays are added to a users Calendar by Microsoft Outlook and not Exchange Server. When you crate mailbox and for the first time you will login using OWA then you will see that mailbox calendar is empty – no holidays. But after you open you mailbox using Microsoft Oultook, all holidays will be added to mailbox calendar by outlook and then you can see them in OWA.

Very often we meet with Microsoft Outlook autocomplete problem.

In previous versions of Outlook like 2007, autocomplete file was stored in .nk2 file in user profilename.

Outlook 2010 doesn’t use the .nk2 file anymore for maintaining your nickname cache.

With Outlook 2010 and Exchange 2010, autocomplete cache is stored with user mailbox in a hidden message.
This lets the cache roam with your Exchange mailbox so that you have to access to your cache on any client you use to access your mailbox.

But sometimes Microsoft Outlook 2010 autocomplete doesn’t work.

Fix Microsoft Outlook 2010 Autocomplete function:

You can try to fix problem following the below steps:

First if you don’t want to lose your suggested contacts, export them from Outlook to some folder on your computer.

Most of us who has used Shared Mailbox in Microsoft Exchange environment, met with users complaints that emails which they sent a message using the shared mailbox account goes to Sent Items personal mailbox.

This behavior is normall for scenario when we use Microsoft Outlook with personal mailbox and automapped shared mailbox. Then when we delete or send message from shared mailbox account, the message goes to personal recycle bin or sent items.

How can we separate Shared Mailbox deleted and sent items ?

We have two solutions to separate sent and deleted items:

Use Microsoft Outlook 2010 and add shared mailbox as normal mailbox account

Change windows registry on client computer with different Outlook versions

1. Use Microsoft Outlook 2010 for Shared Mailbox to separate sent and deleted items

When you use Microsoft Outlook and you get permissions to shared mailbox, this mailbox will be automapped in Outlook.

After automapping when you send a message from shared mailbox this message will be saved in sent items of your personal mailbox. This behavior often is unwanted.

To make Outlook 2010 to save all sent items or deleted items from shared mailbox to sent items folder or deleted items folder in shared mailbox you have to add shared mailbox as equivalent mailbox in Outlook.

Close Microsoft Outlook 2010 with your personal mailbox, and go to Control Panel, Mail next in Mail Setup – Outlook window choose:
E-mail Accounts…

Next in Account Settings window choose New…, and select

Manually configure server settings or additional server types

So if we add user Full Access permission to 10 mailboxes, he will all 10 mailboxes in his Outlook because these mailboxes will be automatically mapped in Outlook.

In Microsoft Exchange 2010 SP1 there was no option to turn this “great” feature off.

But when we get Microsoft Exchange 2010 SP2 we can use Exchange Management Shell (Exchange Powershell) to disable this feature.

When we use Exchange Management Console to add user Full Mailbox Permission to other mailbox, this mailbox will be loaded to user Outlook.

If we want to add user Full Mailbox Permission but we don’t want automap this mailbox to Microsoft Outlook we have to use powershell:

To do this press Ctrl+E or just click in Search Bar.

The search bar in the new Microsoft Outlook 2013 allows us to select items in search:

current mailbox

current folder

subfolders

all mailboxes

all Outlook items

But in Microsoft Outlook you can use more options which will help you to find something.

You have to just write specified query in search box.
like:
messagesize:>5mb – find all messages which size is more than 5MB.

subject:”some subject” – find all messages with subject some subject

also you can use logical operators like AND, NOT, OR, <, >, = to refine your search.
Remember: Logical operators must be typed in uppercase letters.

More examples of search criteria can be found below in table:
