Before buying a license of EDB to PST converting tool, I made sure that japanese language was supported by contacting them.

Unfortunately, after a few tests, when the tool is in “Offline mode”, it cannot read correctly information from EDB file. The japanese characters are all messed up, useless for us.

I contacted the support, provided a sample edb file and after a few mails finally the problem was escalated.

I asked regularly to know if the problem could be reproduced in their environment but they could not give me any information, I just had to wait…

Finally they said that they could reproduce the problem and that next version would contain the fix ! But they had no visibility about when next version would be available, I just had to check their website regularly..

Finally I tried the new version after a few months and of course the problem is not fixed at all !

Feature that was supposed to be working doesn’t work (japanese support), the “fixed version” doesn’t work and the support could not give me any information regarding the progress on this case…

Thanks a lot, we indeed have a lot of movements in the Active Directory OUs so I combined your two methods in one ps-script and it worked like a charm.

Thanks for listing the common message properties, it helped me. Do you know where to find a full list? For example, when I try to use search-mailbox with the “-searchdumpsteronly” switch, I would like to avoid pulling in all the old meeting notices and only pull in the message types. Is there a way to use the search-query to only pull the IPM.Note class items? I use this frequently to restore mailboxes from the purges folder, but I don’t want to restore calendar items.

This restrictions are not applying for inbound mails. i.e., from external to internal. Do we need to do any extra configuration?

The above said limit only work for our internal users (outbound).

I know its an old post. But i am taking my chance. If you are still listening to this post, can you please email the full script. If possible, I need to import mailbox names from a text file or CSV which ever works. I tried Get-Content but I am hitting an error somewhere.

Also, I don’t need archive mailbox to be included in the report. So, make all these modification is causing typo.

Yes, an issue has been identified in the Exchange Server 2010 SP3 Update Rollup 8 and it has been recalled and is no longer available on the download center
